A fan says: “Like a band, but just one man!”
"That's What I Like!' - says Wilko Johnson formerly Dr Feelgood
SLIM hails from Houston, Texas, performing a handcrafted blend of Roots & Blues – Americana, country blues, rockabilly, folk & outlaw country. As a multi-instrumentalist, his unique rhythm & finger-picking style is highlighted by various guitars, slide, harmonica, foot pedal drum & tambourine.
Slim’s original tunes are reflective of his tumultuous past during his early years growing up in Texas in the 60's. His music resonates with the rocky road upon which he draws inspiration from legends such as Johnny Cash, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Ray Charles, Waylon Jennings, Neil Young, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, ZZ Top, JJ Cale, Elvis, Bob Dylan and the like. He has been known to showcase their tunes with his own unique flair.
Interestingly, he received accolades from what turned out to be an original band member of Elvis whilst playing “Hound Dog” at a gig in Memphis, and Wilko Johnson (Dr Feelgood) while touring the U.K.
An accomplished musician, Semora has decades under his belt, having toured the States and U.K. with various bands and as a solo performer. He has owned recording studios in Austin, Houston & Wichita and worked with artists such as John Hatten of the Brian Setzer Orchestra (Stray Cats) and more.
Semora is soon to release his solo album titled “Remnants”. He primarily performs and records his songs with little or no accompaniment from other artists or backing tracks making him truly a “One Man Band”.
